According to an Englewood Colorado newswire report, dishnetwork corporation, the digital television leader, is now offering both standard and high definition programming using the MPEG 4 advanced video coding standard. MPEG 4 allows delivery of high definition video at a bit rate much lower than traditional methods. "Dish network once again leads the pack in providing our viewers with an exceptional entertainment experience. Our comprehensive MPEG for solution offers 150-ish HD channels by the end of 2008," said a spokers person from DISH NETWORK.

Dish Network Satellite TV has customers in 21 of the major television markets. That includes half of the united states, and most of the eastern seaboard. Dish Network's Chief Marketing Officer feels that the recent reduction of dish network's least expensive package from $24.99 per month to $19.99 per month is a good method for Dish Network to attract new customers.

Dish Network packages range in price from $20.00 per month all the way up to $180.00 per month. The dish satellite network is comprised of four orbiting satellites. This allows for perception of the multicast signal in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
